Materials
PBR materials in several resolutions, from paints to porcelain tiles, to apply in SketchUp (V-Ray or native PBR) and in 3ds Max.
1The numbers on the screen are the steps in Step by step.
What it does
The Materials tab gathers PBR textures organized by type: woods, stones, porcelain and ceramic tiles, paints by color family, fabrics, metals, concrete and others. Each material has separate resolutions (1K, 2K, 4K…) and you download only the one you need.
Once the material is on disk, it goes straight onto the selected object in SketchUp or 3ds Max, at the correct physical size.
Before you start
- To apply in SketchUp: the extension installed and SketchUp open, with the object selected.
- Native PBR requires SketchUp 2025 or newer; the V-Ray engine requires V-Ray for SketchUp.
- To apply in 3ds Max: the connector installed and at least one object selected in the scene.
- The free plan includes 20 material downloads per computer.
Step by step
Find the material
Browse the categories in the sidebar, starting with All materials, or use Search and Filters (brand, color, finish, resolution). On a paint’s page, also choose the finish.
Choose the resolution and download
On the page, the Resolution buttons show 1K, 2K, 4K… The green dot marks the ones already on disk. Pick one and click Download.
- A resolution marked “coming soon” hasn’t been published to the catalog yet.
Select the object in the program
In SketchUp, select one group, component or face. In 3ds Max, select the objects that will receive the material.
Apply in SketchUp
Click Apply in SketchUp. Under Where to apply, choose All geometries (swaps the material wherever it is in the model) or Selected mesh only. Then choose the engine: V-Ray or Native PBR.
- An engine that isn’t available appears disabled with the reason, for example “Requires SketchUp 2025 or newer.”
- The previous material stays in the project.
Or apply in 3ds Max
Click Apply in 3ds Max and choose Corona or V-Ray. The material goes onto the selection with a Box-type UVW Map, at the material’s physical size.
Fix the grain and scale
In SketchUp, Adjust texture rotates, scales and offsets the texture live. See the Texture adjustment guide.
Tips
- If SketchUp is closed, the apply window offers Open SketchUp. As soon as it opens, apply again.
- The page separates the maps SketchUp uses (color, AO, roughness and normal) from the ones only 3ds Max uses.
- For paints, the sphere on the card is the pure color; the finish (matte, satin, semi-gloss) is chosen on the page.
- Right-click a card to see the resolutions you already have on disk and Open the folder.
